Today we’re going to be taking a look at a singer who just recently had her recording debut. South Korean singer-songwriter Minna Seo released her debut single A Lovers’ Waltz on January 18, 2024.
A Lovers’ Waltz Review:
What a delightful Jazz-inspired track! Her vocals are light and airy but in such a sticky and emotive way. The piano combined with her voice gives this dreamy vibe that feels so perfect for the Winter season. The subtle cymbals and bass create this warm Jazz feel before that saxophone comes in toward the second half. But what really sells it are these dreamy romantic lyrics speaking to a love that can’t be replaced. I’m absolutely looking forward to where she goes next! If you see a Jazz playlist in the future, it will 100% be because of those beautiful track!
Minna Seo is an up-and-coming independent jazz vocalist and songwriter. She came to initial prominence through the Channel A and ABEMA co-produced reality survival program “Stars Awakening” in 2022. However, her biggest pre-debut appearance came in the form of a collaborative performance with BTS member V called “Le Jazz de V”, as part of the 2023 BTS FESTA celebration. In addition, she featured on Korean artist Woshi’s single “Over”, released in December 2023.
